Initial Situation and Challenge
Hermes Fulfilment CZ has been facing long-term rapid growth in processed volumes within the Fashion & Beauty segment. This development has created increasing pressure on logistics throughput, operational efficiency, and system reliability.
Following the successful retrofit project in Hall A, delivered by aeqoom under full operation, the need arose to further expand technological capacity. Continuing the cooperation with aeqoom was therefore a logical step, leading to the implementation of a new solution in Hall G, once again without disrupting ongoing operations.
Project Objectives
The main objectives of the project were to:
- increase logistics system throughput,
- optimize material flow between halls,
- simplify logistics processes,
- unify control and management systems,
- prepare operations for further volume growth,
- implement the project under full customer operation.
aeqoom Solution
aeqoom designed and delivered a new technological solution that seamlessly builds on previous projects implemented at the Hermes Fulfilment site.
The solution is based on:
- a conveyor system for unpacking articles,
- supplying Hall A,
- processing footwear and fashion accessories directly in Hall G.
The technology combines belt and roller conveyors. With a strong focus on sustainability and cost efficiency, refurbished conveyor curves from another site were integrated into the project.
The overall system architecture was unified and designed to allow future scalability and expansion.
Project Implementation
The project was completed within 6 months of contract signing. The main challenge was the layout of the facility, where logistics operations are divided between two buildings, one of which operates across five floors.
All installation and commissioning activities were carried out under full operation, without interrupting production, while maintaining high standards of safety and process continuity.
The scope of delivery by aeqoom included:
- mechanical installation,
- electrical installation,
- PLC programming,
- project management,
- coordination of implementation in an active production environment.
